Snohomish County bans rural "mini-cities"!

Document Actions
Fully Contained Communities (FCC’s) for Snohomish County are repealed. Join us in thanking the 4 Councilmembers who voted to protect rural areas from costly and irresponsible development.

This morning, at 11am, the County Council voted to ensure that "fully-containted" communities (FCCs) would be banned in Snohomish County.

We've been working on this issue here in Snohomish County for the last three years.  It's because of your help and the leadership of our elected officials like Council Chair Cooper and Councilmembers Somers, Sullivan and Gossett that we're able to celebrate today.   We also want to thank Executive Reardon for rescinding his veto and supporting the Council's decision today to formerly override his veto.

Banning these FCCs is an important step and signal to our community that Snohomish County cannot and will not grow at any cost.

It's not every day that we get a chance to celebrate such a tremendous victory.

Please take a minute to thank County Councilmembers Cooper, Somers, Sullivan and Gossett, who voted to support the public interest and protect our rural and resource lands from irresponsible & costly development by clicking here.
