Stop Eyman's I-1125

Tim Eyman's back at it.  Unfortunately the stakes couldn't be any higher with this year's Initiative 1125.

I-1125 is a recipe for more gridlock that threatens vital transportation projects and economic growth across the state.  That's why a nearly unprecedented coalition has come together to oppose Eyman's I-1125.

Initiative 1125 will appear on the November ballot. Masquerading as a measure about tolling, 1125 is a dangerous and irresponsible initiative designed to halt major transportation projects across the state.

I-1125 means we'll have stupid tolling. Stupid because drivers at 7pm on a Sunday night with zero traffic will have to pay the same as someone driving in Monday morning rush hour. Stupid because because we won't be able to use tolls to help reduce congestion and pollution.  Stupid because we'll be the only state in the country that doesn't let independent transportation experts set the toll rates. Stupid tolling because we won't actually be able to finance major transportation projects anymore.

The Everett Herald had this to say about I-1125:

Tim Eyman's Initiative 1125 isn't just one bad idea, it's a bunch of them. Their cumulative effect would severely damage the state's ability to build and maintain the roads and bridges necessary to support a vibrant economy and good-paying jobs. We strongly encourage voters to reject it this fall.

I-1125 is a bad deal for Washington - it will increase gridlock at a time when we can least afford it. Join us in endorsing NO on I-1125!
