Week of February 5 Legislative Update

Can you believe we are already in February? Session is going by fast for us here, and this upcoming week is going to be action packed! Check it out:

Vote YES for HB 1110

Our Middle Housing bill, HB 1110, is up for a vote! We need you to email the House Housing Committee to vote YES on HB 1110. This is the big next step to ensure we get out of committee and keep this bill headed to the House floor. So tell the committee members to vote YES, and once you do, please tell 5 friends/community members to vote yes as well.

Sign in PRO for HB 1517

Last week, we had you sign in PRO for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) bill SB 5466. Thank you for that! Now, we need you to sign in PRO for its House counterpart, HB 1517! As you know, Futurewise believes that housing and transit belong together. That’s why we need you to sign in PRO for our TOD bill, HB 1517, by this Tuesday, February 7th at 3pm!

Remember: Do not select an organization when signing in.

Sign in PRO for SB 5651

We want to highlight our friends over at Front and Centered and the incredible work they are doing. They’re building on the work they did to pass the HEAL Act by introducing SB 5651 and HB 1623, which would embed environmental justice into the Growth Management Act (learn more here). We are big supporters of this so we ask you to please sign in PRO for SB 5651 by Tuesday February 7 at 7am!

Look out for Lobby Day!

Finally, we’re so excited for all our volunteers who are joining us this Wednesday for Futurewise’s For Our Future lobby day! We’re headed to Olympia to make sure that our lawmakers are voting #ForOurFuture! Keep an eye out for updates from us throughout the day.

Thank you for your support!
