Futurewise Legislative Advocacy

As the steward of Washington’s Growth Management Act (GMA), Futurewise advocates with people like you to pass state legislation that reflects our vision for the future. In recent years, Futurewise has passed marquee legislation to update the GMA to fight climate change (HB 1181), promote housing affordability (HB 1220 and HB 1110) and prevent sprawl (SB 5042).

2023 For Our Future Campaign

Futurewise advocates for land use policies that help ensure that every Washingtonian can live in a thriving community now and for generations to come. Our statewide legislative campaign aims to build this future by passing statewide bills. Last year, we passed Missing Middle Housing (HB1110) and Climate Planning in the Growth Management Act (HB1181).

2024 Connecting Communities Campaign

This year we will be continuing on these success to build a better Washington for everyone by connecting communities to housing and transit. Join us on November 8 from 5:30-6:30pm over zoom for the Kick Off Meeting! The Kick Off is the best way to learn more about our legislative agenda, meet volunteers, and get involved. We’re only successful when we work together! We need your help to make sure WA’s decision makers know how important these issues are.
